FAQs

Are you a lender?

Yes, Granite Bay Acceptance Inc. is a consumer finance lender. We also work with additional lending partners to make up a network that can help you to find a loan. After submitting a request, if accepted, we will forward you to the lender’s website where you will be able to learn more about your specific loan offer.

Am I eligible for a loan?

We consider a variety of factors when making a decision on your loan. In addition to the information below, you must also meet our underwriting criteria to be approved for a loan or line of credit.

  • You are at least 18 years old. (19 in Alabama.)
  • You are not presently a covered borrower as defined by the Military Lending Act (“MLA”). The Military Lending Act prohibits loans to covered borrowers with a MAPR above 36%. At this time, a product is not available that meets the MLA requirements for covered borrowers. If you are not a covered borrower, you may qualify for a loan and are encouraged to apply.
  • You have a regular source of income. If your income is from employment, you have been working for your current employer for at least 3 months.
  • You have a traditional bank account in your name with 90 days of history.
  • You receive your paychecks through direct deposit. (Due to state regulations, residents of New Mexico are exempt from this requirement.)

How will my loan be funded?

We work hard to offer you fast loan funding. Typically, your personal loan will be deposited in your account as soon as the next business day once your application is approved.*

* Approval may take longer if additional verification documents are requested. Not all loan requests are approved. Approval and loan terms vary based on credit determination and state law. Applications processed and approved before 7:30 p.m. ET Monday-Friday are typically funded the next business day.

Rates and terms vary by state.

Why do some people get lower rates?

There are several factors affecting the rate you receive including your financial situation, credit history, amount you are borrowing, term and vehicle age. However, keep in mind that as a private lender, Granite Bay Acceptance does not follow the financial formulas imposed by traditional lending channels and therefore offers some of the most competitive rates.

How do I find out the status of my loan application?

You will hear from a Granite Bay Acceptance team member shortly after submitting your application. However, should you have concerns, a live representative is available to speak to you during normal business hours.

Can I make a loan payment with my credit or debit card?

Yes, Granite Bay Acceptance is happy to accept credit or debit card payments. In fact, we can also set up automatic monthly charges to your card, monthly withdrawals from your checking account or bi-monthly ACH payments.

Will you share any of my information with outside companies?

No we will not. Any details you share with Granite Bay Acceptance will be kept safe, secure and 100% confidential. Our approach to protecting your personal information is outlined in our Privacy Policy.

Does applying with Granite Bay Acceptance obligate me to accept a loan if I’m approved?

We understand you may be shopping for the best rate or may change your mind to not borrow anymore. You are under no obligation whatsoever to accept a loan from us.

Personal Loan

Automotive Loan

What is a Personal Loan? Are there any limitations on the dollar amount of your auto loans?
Personal loans are generally loans without collateral (hence the name personal). Personal loans can be used for any purpose, but common uses include debt consolidation, credit card payoffs, etc. It may go without saying but personal loans should be used responsibly. Be sure to read the terms before accepting.. We offer loan amounts from $5,000 and up to $75,000 for vehicles. Your actual loan amount will be determined based on the value of the specific vehicle that you are purchasing or refinancing. • Invoice price for new vehicles. • Kelley Blue Book, NADA or Black Book clean trade-in value for used vehicles (depends on your state). If your vehicle qualifies for a manufacturer rebate, we will reduce the invoice price by the rebate amount. If you are refinancing an existing auto loan, you should refinance the full payoff amount of your existing auto loan.
How much can I borrow? I received a pre-qualified offer from Granite Bay Acceptance through a dealer, does this obligate me to apply to Granite Bay Acceptance?
First time borrowers can get approved for up to $500-60,000*. Rates and Terms vary by state. You may work with your dealer on the best financing option for your personal situation. You are under no obligation whatsoever to apply for a loan from us. But if you continue to meet the terms and conditions of the offer, we will provide financing for your purchase.
How does the process work? After I have paid off my loan, when will I get my title?
1. After you submit your application, we will contact one of the lenders in our network that can help you to find a loan. 2. If your application is accepted, we will forward you to the lender’s website where you will be able to learn more about your specific loan offer. 3. Next, the lender will generate a loan agreement with all the details, including (but not limited to) interest rate, number of payments, payment amount, and total cost of loan for you to review. 4. Once you submit your loan agreement for approval, the lender’s team will work quickly to verify key details and process your loan. As soon as your loan is approved, the lender will send a request to your bank to deposit your funds, unless you choose payment by check. We always aim for fast loan funding typically by the next business day.* If you paid your balance with guaranteed funds, it could be released in as little as seven business days. Otherwise it could take up to 30 days to release your title. Your state’s processing requirements also affect the outcome, as some states process titles electronically, while others do not. Your Granite Bay Acceptance representative can explain your state’s processing requirements to you to make sure you’re comfortable.
